Treatments are necessary to protect the vine from "Peronospora", from "Powdery mildew" and "Botrytis". More precisely, we can say that with the treatments we aim to maintain the parasites of the vine below an acceptable density level.

Peronospora:

The conditions for the development of the first infection occur, according to the rule of the three 10s, or rather when shoots reach 10 cm, temperature 10°C and at least 10 mm of rain fell.
Secondary infections may take place when the leaves and grapes become wet for about 2 hours at temperatures of 22-24°C.
Critical phases: formation of grapes, pre-flowering, fruit set, pre-closing grapes.
The symptom that indicates the Peronospora is the so-called oil stain on the upper part of the leaf.
Tenuta dell'Agnerone enacts the defense against Peronospora via fungicide treatments scheduled depending on rainfall.

Powdery mildew:

Attacks on shoots from 5 cm
Critical phases: pre-flowering, and post-blossom until veraison.
The symptom that indicates the Powdery mildew is the decolorization of the upper part of the leaf, the appearance of mildew and the presence of wrinkles.
Tenuta dell'Agnerone complies with the defense against powdery mildew via the use of sulfur in the treatments.

Botrytis:

The conditions for development of Botrytis occur according to the rule of two 15s i.e. temperature of 15°C and 15 hours of wetting.
Fasi critiche: fine fioritura, imminente chiusura del grappolo, invaiatura, ultime quattro settimane prima della vendemmia;
The symptom that indicates Botrytis is rot.
Tenuta dell'Agnerone enacts the defense against Botrytis through preventive work which can be summarized as:

  • correct pruning;
  • pollarding;
  • defoliation
